Fancy Pancake at Cafe Accueil Yokohama

Pancake, especially souffle pancake, is one of the food that we would like to try in Japan. My brother and I love sweets and dessert. We're pretty amazed with how fluffy and soft Japanese pancake are in some youtube videos. We rarely have that kind of pancake in Jakarta.

Our first time encountering fancy pancake in Japan was at Cafe Accueil in Yokohama (アクイーユ 横浜店). We do our research first before we went to Japan so we can find this place without much trouble. But it was Sunday afternoon so I should expect that the cafe would be pretty full and we had to wait a bit. I felt that this cafe is a bit understaffed. 2 people as a front to serve costumers when the cafe is full seems really tough.

We waited for around 30 minutes until we finally get seated. Their interior is cute and chic with rustic atmosphere. I love how the cafe are decorated. Since we didn't have much time until the next place, we only bought one strawberry pancake and one maple syrup hot milk.

While it wasn't the fluffy souffle pancake that we had expected. But the texture were great. It's a bit thick with little rough texture kind of pancake and a bit crispy in their outer layer. I could taste the butter pretty well and they're awesome with the ice cream's sweetness and sour taste from the berries. The plating were also pretty and a feast to the eyes.

The maple syrup hot milk on the other hand was a bit ordinary. It was pretty much a hot milk with foamy upper layer and we couldn't really taste or smell the maple syrup part.

For those who try to find this cafe, it's at Marui City, a shopping mall near Yokohama Station. If I'm not mistaken, they're located on the 4th floor. I remember there was a lot of women clothes in that floor.
